Storage Procedures

Storage Procedures

Documented storage protocols built to preserve the purity, stability, and shelf life of every compound we handle — from the moment it arrives to the moment it ships to your laboratory anywhere in the world.

Protecting Integrity

Our Storage Philosophy

Correct storage is the foundation of a reliable research chemical. No two compounds behave the same way, so our facilities and working procedures are designed to handle that variation — controlled room temperature for stable solids, cold storage for heat-sensitive materials, and sealed, desiccated packaging for hygroscopic compounds.

Three principles guide everything we do in our warehouse: stability, traceability, and security. We hold each compound at the conditions it requires, we record every movement it makes, and we restrict access to trained staff only.

The sections below set out how that works in practice, so you can see exactly what happens to your material between arrival and dispatch — whether you are in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, or Africa.

Our Facilities

Where Your Material Is Held

Our storage facility is set up specifically for research chemicals — not adapted from general parcel logistics. That means dedicated zones for different temperature bands, equipment suited to fine chemical handling, and layouts that keep incoming, quarantined, and released stock physically separated.

Our facility maintains temperature-controlled areas with continuous logging, and entry is restricted by access control so materials are only handled by staff trained on these procedures.

Central Storage Hub

Primary facility with on-site quality control laboratory and temperature-controlled storage zones for ambient, cold, and moisture-sensitive stock.

Central Storage Hub

All orders — whether destined for the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, or Africa — are fulfilled from our central storage hub, ensuring consistent quality standards and handling procedures for every shipment, everywhere.

Optimal Environments

Storage Conditions We Maintain

Compounds are routed to the environment that suits them as soon as they are booked in. We maintain four distinct storage regimes to accommodate the full range of materials we handle.

Ambient

Controlled room-temperature storage for compounds that are stable under standard conditions.

Refrigerated

Dedicated cold storage held at 2–8 °C for heat-sensitive material.

Moisture Sensitive

Desiccated storage with sealed, moisture-resistant packaging for hygroscopic compounds.

Secure

Access-restricted areas for regulated, high-value or otherwise sensitive items.

Continuous monitoring

Storage areas are logged around the clock. If readings drift outside the set range, an alert is raised immediately — so conditions can be corrected before stock is affected.

Always In Control

Inventory Management

Our inventory system is built so that what you see on our website reflects what is actually on the shelf. If a product is listed as available, it is either in stock or clearly flagged with its expected availability.

Batch-level control. Every product is managed by batch rather than just by SKU, so each individual lot can be tracked from goods-in through to dispatch.

FIFO rotation. Stock is issued on a first-in, first-out basis. Older lots are picked before newer ones, keeping material moving and preventing anything from sitting in storage longer than necessary.

Live availability. Stock levels update in real time, so you are never left ordering something that turns out to be unavailable.

Condition-matched storage. Where a product requires controlled conditions, it is held that way for its entire time with us — with logging to confirm it.

Batch Controlled

Every item tracked at lot level.

FIFO Rotation

Oldest stock always issued first.

Live Visibility

Stock figures update in real time.

Retention Samples

Held back for later reference.

Traceability

Retention Samples

A sample is retained from each batch for a defined period. This gives us something physical to refer back to if any question about a lot arises after it has already shipped.

Purpose

Retention samples serve as the reference point for any quality query. If you raise a question about a batch, we can re-examine the retained material and confirm its condition at the time of dispatch.

Storage

Retained samples are kept under the same conditions as the batch they came from, with identical temperature logging — ensuring they remain representative of what was shipped.

Traceability

Each sample is linked to its batch record, enabling full traceability back to the original lot and all associated documentation.

Retention Period

Samples are held for a defined period that supports our quality commitments and customer-support needs. This period is documented and strictly followed as part of our procedures.

Documented traceability

Retention samples, combined with complete batch records, mean your material can be traced back to its origin — ensuring reproducibility and making compliance straightforward.

How We Store

The Procedure, Step by Step

Each stage below is documented and executed by trained staff. Together, these steps ensure material remains in the condition it arrived in — from receipt to dispatch.

01  Receiving & Booking In

Incoming material is checked and logged into the inventory system, then placed in the zone matching its requirements — ambient, refrigerated, or desiccated.

02  Temperature Monitoring

Storage areas are logged continuously. Records are maintained and reviewed routinely to confirm conditions remained within specification.

03  Stock Rotation

First-in, first-out picking ensures older lots are dispatched before newer ones, maintaining stock freshness and preventing long dwell times.

04  Access Control

Entry to storage areas is restricted to authorised personnel trained in handling and storage requirements.

05  Documentation

Every movement is recorded — goods-in, put-away, transfer, and picking — enabling complete traceability.

06  Retention Handling

Retained samples are stored under matched conditions with full documentation, ready to address any future quality questions.

Storage you can rely on

Controlled conditions, batch-level traceability, and documented handling at every step — so the material you receive performs exactly the way it should, wherever in the world your research takes you.
